Kennebunkport Tour
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do the tours start?
Our Kennebunkport tours depart from the South Church river green at 2 North Street, Kennebunkport. Our tour concludes right in Docks Square, where you can then enjoy all that Kennebunkport has to offer. Click here for a list of our favorite spots.
Parking
There is limited parking on North Street. Also, try Chestnut Street, Pearl Street, or Green Street for potential spots. Pay-by-the-hour public parking is also available at 11 Dock Square, right behind Alisson’s Restaurant and next to our meeting spot at the South Church River Green.

How long is the tour?
Our tour takes approximately 1.5 - 2 hours depending on the walking pace of the group and questions asked.

How many people are on the tour?

We allow no more than 10 people on our tour to ensure that everyone has the best experience.
Cancellation Policy
Our tours take place rain or shine. We allow refunds 4 days or more prior to your tour.
* Prelude tours can be rescheduled 12 hours or more prior to the tour
Do I need a reservation?
Yes - all tours require advance reservations. Booking ahead ensures you receive helpful pre-tour emails and a text from your guide with meet-up details. We do not accept on-site payment. Please reserve at least 24 hours before the tour start; tours often fill or have waitlists.

What if I’m running late?

Please arrive 10 minutes early to the meeting point. Our historic walks depart on time so you don’t miss key stops.

Can I bring my dog?

Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome on daytime tours (evening tours are human-only). Please check with fellow guests at check-in for comfort/allergies and keep pups about 6 feet from others.

Are the tours kid-friendly?

Yes. Our routes are designed for all ages; most families find them engaging. We generally recommend ages 12+ for attention span and pace.

Are restrooms available on the route?

Please plan to use facilities before the tour. Public restrooms are located in the public parking behind Allison's restaurant and next to the South Church River Green where our tour starts. There are limited restrooms along our paths, but your guide may be able to point out nearby options along the way.

What language are tours in?

Tours are currently offered in English only.

Do you offer private tours?

Absolutely. Contact us to arrange a private Kennebunkport experience tailored to your interests, pace, and schedule.

What should I bring?

Comfortable walking shoes. You may also want water, sunscreen, and layers for Maine’s ever-changing weather. A charged phone for photos is a plus.

Accessibility & Mobility

Many routes are generally flat, though sidewalks can be uneven in historic areas. If you have mobility considerations, please tell your guide at check-in so we can choose the most accessible paths (ramps over stairs, sidewalks over grass). For safety, guests should be able to see and hear instructions. We also welcome guests with different cognitive abilities when accompanied by a friend, family member, or support professional.
